Forums › What age did you let your kid… › Lemonade Stand
My daughters are 9, 6 and just turned 4. We were driving home and saw a lemonade stand run by some teens but we didn’t stop. They wouldn’t stop talking about it so I told them if they wanted to go, they could – by themselves! And also, they were paying for it out of their piggy banks 😂 My middle child has anxiety and didn’t want to go without me but my oldest is so confident she was begging to go even without her sisters. In the end, they decided to all go together. It was 2 streets over. I gave them directions, a watch (I gave them a generous 20 minutes) and sat on the couch with my feet up. They made it there and back in 15 minutes with lemonade and a freshly baked cookie and lots of smiles. Hooray!
That sounds amazing! My 6-year old is dying to make money and keeps trying to “sell” his books to me. I’m wondering about him putting up a lemonade stand. Have your girls asked to do this? If he could partner with another friend they might have fun being the vendor. I haven’t done any planning yet, just wondering where to direct my young entrepreneur.
