Is it possible to EVER report ANYTHING about letting kids ride their bikes, or, heavens-to-betsy, go to the playground, without the media consulting some EXPERT like the one in this NBC Nightly News report on Free-Range Parenting?
Media, can you ever NOT find a shrink to say, "Some independence is good for kids, but balance is key! Having them stay for a month in a shack in the Andes with no one to eat but themselves is not a good idea."
Or, "Drinking water is good. But that doesn't mean kids should drink Drano."
Or, "It's good to breathe, yes. But some people see this as an excuse to slice open their lungs to let more air in, and that could be detrimental."
Or, "We all know that kids can handle some freedom. But waking them up, smearing them with honey and sending them outside in hamburger hats to the grizzly preserve is just not something parents should do."
Oh...is it's not? Isn't that Free-Ranging?
