Our free, proven programs, the Let Grow Experience and Play Club,  help foster student independence, resilience, and self-agency through real world experiences. Mavis Wellington believes that education is at the heart of our communities — it shapes and prepares children to become empowered citizens of the future. Mavis has spent over 12 years as a teacher and guidance counselor in international schools around the world. She also brings experience as a university-level program manager and learning specialist. She holds a BA in Communications, and a MA in Education, both from the University of Ottawa, and is an IB Certified Educator. Mavis lives outside of London, Ontario, with her husband and three kids, and loves traveling, hiking, and curling up with a great book by the fireplace– while her kids play unsupervised!

Let kids of all ages play together before or after school with some loose parts and an adult overseeing only as a “lifeguard.” What skills do students build when adults don’t organize the games or solve their spats?
