Social Media Manager

Type: Contract
Hours: 10 hours per week
Pay Rate: $28/hour
Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communications
Location: Remote (Must live in the US)

Position Overview

Let Grow is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Social Media Manager to support and strengthen our presence across key social media platforms. This contract role will help bring Let Grow’s message to life through engaging content, thoughtful storytelling, and consistent execution across channels.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of social media experience, preferably within education, parenting, nonprofit, child development, or mission-driven spaces. They are a strong writer, understand social media trends, and know how to create content that feels human, relatable, and aligned with Let Grow’s mission. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys turning ideas, articles, programs, events, and parent/educator stories into compelling social content that builds awareness and drives engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director on executing the marketing plan.
  • Drive the channel strategy and own the execution for our core brand social media channels, such as, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, and others.
  • Develop engaging social media copy that reflects Let Grow’s voice, mission, and audience.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of a monthly social media content calendar.
  • Repurpose Let Grow articles, newsletters, webinars, programs, campaigns, and media mentions into strong social media content.
  • Create social copies, hashtags, reels ideas, carousel concepts, and post formats that increase reach and engagement.
  • Help translate Let Grow’s work in childhood independence, education, parenting, and youth development into clear and compelling social content.
  • Monitor social media comments, conversations, and engagement opportunities to grow the brand.
  • Stay up to date on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices.
  • Help identify opportunities to grow Let Grow’s visibility among educators, schools, parents, and community leaders.
  • Track social media performance and share insights, learnings, and recommendations with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Support promotional efforts for Let Grow programs, webinars, campaigns, and resources.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, on-brand, and aligned with Let Grow’s mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing social media for a brand, nonprofit, school, education organization, business, or agency.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, relevant certifications, and hands-on experience.
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to write in a clear, engaging, and relatable voice.
  • Excellent understanding of major social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, X, and other relevant platforms.
  • Experience creating social media calendars and scheduling content.
  • Excellent copywriting skills.
  • Ability to turn long-form content into short, engaging social posts.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Creative mindset with a good eye for storytelling, visuals, and audience engagement.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, contract role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort creating content for parent, educator, school, and community audiences.
  • Passion for Let Grow’s mission and a commitment to helping children build independence, resilience, and confidence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with education organizations, nonprofits, parenting brands, child development organizations, schools, or advocacy-focused organizations.
  • Basic graphic design experience using Canva or similar tools.
  • Experience creating short-form video concepts, reels, or social-first storytelling content.
  • Experience creating content that simplifies complex ideas for broad audiences.
