Rewilding is the process of creating autonomous, place-based, regenerative subsistence cultures.
I registered for this conference. It’s the 2nd year. I don’t know anything more but what I read on the website.
It seems like the kind of thing a free-range parent and educator would be interested in so I’m sharing here. Let me know if you plan to attend. I can try to help you get local accommodations at my place or a friend’s if you want it. I live in Portland, OR.
I’ve found that creating an environment for my kids, for me, means crafting a neighborhood and collection of neighbors that they and I feel Ok with them navigating independently. So to me, I’m working on a place and their confidence/skill to navigate that place. EG, how to navigate roads with speeding cars and getting lost in suburban tracts of houses, etc.
I think this is related to re-wilding. But I don’t know. I hope to find out at the conference!
